I'm Kate Marie. If you've been here before, you might remember me. If not, I started SLOWageing because I was dissatisfied with the lame and often confusing advice on how to age well and stay strong.

I've spent years testing approaches and treatments on myself. The setbacks, the moments where it all fell apart, the way back up. That's made me clearer on what sticks.

I'm reigniting the project with practical tools and guidance, pulling together what I've learned. The goal: help you optimise your upcoming years by understanding your personal risks, strengthening your mind and body, staying sharp and strong as you age.

I've kept up with the research and applied it to my own life, so I know what we need to do to stay strong and capable as we head into our later decades. I'll be sharing what I've learned and what works.

You've been on this list before. We collected data, built personalised reports, started something worth finishing. Then the project stalled.

It's back. The focus is tighter: individualised tools and protocols grounded in your biology, your constraints, your life. Not generic wellness advice, not one-size-fits-all programs. SLOW was always about owning the ageing process on your terms. That hasn't changed.

We're rebuilding in the open, which means you'll see things as they develop rather than after a polished launch. If that suits you, opt back in.

Science and real-life experience

I've been researching and working with thousands of women since our first book. Now I'm pulling together what I've learned about personalisation, behaviour change and what sticks when life gets messy.

Most women don't struggle because they don't know what to do. They struggle because generic plans don't account for their individual biology, their constraints, their life. What works is individual. Your hormones shift differently. Your recovery looks different. Your constraints are yours alone.

This approach works because it meets you where you are. The research gives direction. Your experience tells you what sticks and what doesn't.

You are not alone in what worries you

Thousands of women were asked what worries them most as they age. Three things stood out: keeping their minds sharp, their bodies strong and their independence intact.

  • Losing mental faculties 88%
  • Losing physical capabilities 87%
  • Muscle and joint function decline 86%
  • Becoming less mobile 83%
  • Energy levels dropping 78%
  • Loss of muscle mass 77%
  • Getting a chronic disease 75%

This isn't about vanity. It's about maintaining the ability to live fully, think clearly and move through the world on your own terms.
