Projects
Nine projects spanning consumer health education, applied research, digital tools and video content.
slowaging.org
The central hub. Originally a WordPress blog and resource library, now being rebuilt as a static site focused on the 2026 reboot. Houses all project content, the opt-in form and links to downloads.
Fast Living, Slow Ageing
The flagship book. Co-authored by Kate Marie and Professor Merlin Thomas. Covers diet, exercise, sleep, energy, brain health and disease prevention. 25,000 copies across five editions. 13,000 placed in GP offices and medical waiting areas.
Slow Ageing Guide to Skin Rejuvenation
Consumer education on skin-related ageing. Cuts through misinformation about cosmetic medicine, non-invasive treatments and skincare. Written so women can make informed decisions rather than relying on clinic marketing.
Data Not Diets
85-page ebook covering 100+ tracking tools, apps and health tech. No diet rules, no dogma. Track what matters, make decisions from your own data. The current lead magnet for the 2026 reboot — free for anyone who opts back in.
SLOWbot chatbot
A chatbot-delivered healthy ageing intervention built in partnership with Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Italy). Piloted with 54 women over four weeks. Delivered personalised diet check-ins, adherence tracking and behaviour change prompts. Published as a peer-reviewed research paper.
Values and personality research
Exploratory study into the link between personal values, personality traits and health behaviour in mid-life women. Uses Schwartz values framework and Big Five personality dimensions. Aimed at understanding what actually drives behaviour change beyond information alone.
Disease-fighting eating plan
Evidence-based nutrition plan distilled from the FLSA book and updated research. Focuses on foods with demonstrated links to disease prevention and healthy ageing rather than weight loss. Practical, non-prescriptive and designed for sustained use.
Live Long Live Strong risk assessment
A self-assessment tool that profiles individual health risks and generates personalised recommendations. Planned as a key feature of the SLOWageing 2026 reboot, building on insights from the SLOWbot chatbot pilot and the original FLSA content.
Slow Ageing video series
Short educational videos covering DEXA body composition scans, dermal fillers, skin rejuvenation procedures and other topics from the books. Published on YouTube. Intended as visual companions to the written guides.
