Associate Professor Les Sheffield is a Melbourne-based clinical geneticist and a specialist in the clinical interpretation of molecular genetic tests. He is a pioneer of pharmacogenetic testing in Australia and has authored more than 100 scientific publications. Responsible for establishing clinical genetic services in South Australia, A/Prof Sheffield was instrumental in introducing Down’s Syndrome screening in Victoria. He is a consultant to the Victorian Clinical Genetics Services at the Royal Women’s Hospital and is involved in several pharmacogenomic research projects in teaching hospitals in Melbourne
A/Prof Sheffield’s company, GenesFX, is a pioneer in providing genetic testing together with clinical interpretation to personalise the way people take their medications.
